What to do in New York

The New York skyline, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square: these are just a few of the popular tourist hotspots of New York. As a result of such attractions, New York holidays and city breaks have become popular amongst British tourists.

Accommodation in New York

In the vast city of New York, it is often difficult to locate a hotel at a reasonable price, in the perfect location that suits your needs. The business hotels in midtown New York are usually considered to be the best value for money. However, they do not offer the prettiest views. In order to find something to meet your needs, you must research the area you wish to stay in and check prices on a regular basis. There are a range of high-end luxury hotels, and more affordable hotels and hostels dotted throughout the city.

Attractions in New York

New York offers a huge number of attractions and sights, something to satisfy everyone. One of the major attractions is the Empire State Building. You are permitted to enter the building and ascend to the 102nd floor, where it is possible to see both Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

A popular attraction for both adults and children is Central Park. This 843 acre parkland encompasses a zoo, two ice-skating rinks, a theatre and acres of parkland, where you can enjoy a picnic. Additionally, everyone is sure to enjoy the bright lights of Times Square. It is home to the theatres of Broadway. However, even if you choose not to see a show, you’re sure to enjoy the sights and sounds that Times Square has to offer.

The Statue of Liberty is what many people come to New York to see. You can take the Ellis Island cruise, which will also enable you to experience a tour of Ellis Island. Alternatively, you could take the Staten Island ferry to Staten Island, as this will give you unique views of the Statue of Liberty.

Restaurants and Nightlife in New York

The range of eating options in New York is astounding, and there is something that will suit the tastes of everyone. Restaurants in the hotspots such as Times Square tend to be expensive. However, away from touristy places, you are likely to get far more for your money. In addition to independent restaurants, there are a huge number of fast food chains available throughout New York.

The excitement of New York extends to the nightlife on offer. There are a huge number of nightclubs and cocktail bars on offer. Additionally, trendy tiki lounges are now appearing throughout New York.
