Things to do in Faliraki

Faliraki
A very popular destination for customers of Jetline, Faliraki is well known as the party resort of Rhodes. While its dusk to dawn nightlife and buzzing bars and clubs make it one of the best spots on the Greek Islands for the 18-30 crowd, there are plenty of attractions that belong in the perfect recipe for a package holiday for families, couples or adventurous single travellers as well. At around four hours away when flying from London it is an ideal destination for a last minute holiday and with a range of cheap deals available from Jetline, there’s never been a better time to grab a bargain getaway.

Faliraki Weather

The weather in the area is typical of the Mediterranean climate, with a long, hot, dry summer with peak temperatures during June and July when there are highs in the upper thirties, but even during April, May & October it remains pleasantly warm in the low to mid twenties. Although Faliraki experiences a short rainy spell, it’s confined to December and January and rains far less than you could expect in the UK.

Beach Fun in Faliraki

Faliraki attracts a great number of water sports enthusiasts, with a Blue Flag award-winning beach that has public toilets and plenty of sun beds available as well as very calm waters which are suitable for swimmers of all ages. There are boat tours and banana-boat rides that can be picked up from the beach as well as paragliding, waterskiing and wakeboarding. As the promenade behind the beach houses a number of bars and cafés, you can find some tasty local or international food without having to stray too far and there are often beach barbecues as well.

A wide choice of accommodation

There is a good range of accommodation in the resort, such as apartment blocks, villas, guest houses and hotels. It can be quite economical to choose all inclusive as your board option if you intend to stay in a hotel complex as they often have such a good choice of food and entertainment on-site that its easy to get good value for the extra initial outlay; this allows you to plan your spending more accurately as well. One such complex is the Olympia Sun Hotel, which boasts kitchenettes and en-suites in every apartment as well as a separate pool for children, a designated play-area and a games room along with all the modern facilities you would hope to find and a reputation for being friendly and accommodating.

Nearby History and Attractions

As you would expect in this part of the world, Faliraki has its fair share of historical and architectural attractions, such as the nearby ruin of the Acropolis of Rhodes which offers stunning views of the area and the mountain-top Filerimos Monastery, which is still in use as a church. One of the main attractions is Faliraki's giant water park, which is one of the largest in Europe and has all the usual activities including slides, wave pools and inflatable toys, in addition to offering wristbands which can be ‘topped up’ with money for rides and food. The wristband system leaves you free to store your possessions in one of the lockers and take full advantage of all the watery fun on offer.

Faliraki's best beach parties

While there are quite a few club-related events in Faliraki, such as Karnage or the Apollon Mega Beach Party, which attract the party animals, there is always an impressive range of entertainment available in the town’s pubs and clubs, including live music and variety acts like dancers or comedians. The shops and markets offer the opportunity to grab some high-quality souvenirs and plenty of bargain clothing and gifts.
