Holidays to Seychelles

Booking holidays to the Seychelles will take you to the coast of Africa, on the Indian Ocean. This region was once a highly valuable military location for both the British and the French during the colonial years. Today this island nation has become a vibrant tourism destination for people from Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. The weather here is hot and humid, and temperatures rarely drop below 27 degrees Celsius. Sea breezes come in off the coast, helping to refresh visitors as they relax on the beach or enjoy the cultural excursions available.

Once you arrive for your holidays in the Seychelles, make your first stop the beaches. Most of the beaches here are unspoiled, due to the limited accessibility they enjoyed in the past. Even the public beaches are pristine, and most often not crowded. You will find tranquillity relaxing on the warm sand, enjoying the breeze.

From the beach, take a hike and walk up the coast from Beau Vallon to the city of Anse Major, which will take around two hours. There, you will find a very private beach that is well worth visiting. This is not a great beach for swimming as the currents can be strong; however, winds are also strong, which is why many come there for the parasailing.

One must-visit location is Vallee de Mai, a large park that is also a World Heritage Site. Here, you will the coco-de-mer, a palm tree which produces the largest seeds in the world. If you want to explore in the water, visit the Aldabra Atoll, which is one of the largest coral atolls in the world; there are 22 miles to explore. You will find a wide range of wildlife here too, including manta rays, giant land tortoises and even tiger sharks in the water.

If you want more to do on your holidays in the Seychelles, take to the land. You can golf, play squash, enjoy some horseback riding or spend time hiking. Tennis and bike riding are also popular outdoor activities here. During the day, bird watch or take a walking tour through the hilly terrain.

You will find art galleries to explore, open-air markets to buy from and a wide range of restaurants and bars to visit. In addition, several of the areas have Creole-style plantation houses. Some are shops, while others offer tours and a look back at the area’s colonial past. You may wish to visit the island of Mahe where there are numerous museums, national monuments and botanical gardens. After the sun goes down the nightlife in the Seychelles is lively, especially in the Lovenut region.

Holidays to the Seychelles allow visitors to explore both manmade facilities and natural wonders.
