Founded more than 1,500 years ago, travelling around the 117 island of Venice through waterways and canals is a great way to explore the city.

Bologna is considered one of the most attractive cities in all of Italy with is well-maintained monuments and beautiful city centre. The Amalfi coast is one of the most spectacular highlights of any holiday in Italy. The coastline is unspoilt and the town itself remains a very small and popular resort due to its wonderful beaches.

Sicily’s best-known attraction, Mount Etna, is the tallest mountain on the island at more than 10,000 feet. It also remains one of the most active volcanoes in Europe. The mountain is in the Etna Regional Park, which offers skiing opportunities during the winter and great hiking trails during the summer.

To complete your holidays in Italy, take a tour of one of the many beautiful vineyards. Spend a day strolling through cypress woods, or vine-covered hills where fields of sunflowers can be seen for miles. In the north of Siena is where Chianti can be found. It is one of the famous local wines in the region.


Even with many regional variations, Italy generally experiences a warm climate with occasional rainfall. Summer days of July and August tend to be quite hot as temperatures peak in the mid 30s C. The winter months of December through to April will see temperatures dip from 10C to 20C.
