Holidays to Soma Bay

As one of the many resorts that make up the Red Sea Riviera, Soma Bay is blessed with a beautiful location and enticing year round climate.

Sitting alongside some of the most beautiful beaches on the Red Sea coast, Soma Bay offers an excellent base from which to explore the outdoors, as well as providing ample opportunity for rest and relaxation.

Against a backdrop of desert dunes and looking over to the Red Sea Mountains, Soma Bay holidays are an opportunity to enjoy a truly Egyptian oasis. Across the water from the famed Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh, Soma Bay enjoys access to some of the best scuba diving sites in the world. There is also a wide range of snorkelling excursions on offer.

With a choice of certified diving centres, anyone enjoying Soma Bay holidays can take advantage of the expertise and experience of local instructors to explore the undersea environment and discover the aquatic life that inhabits the areas reefs and wrecks.

Located as it is, on a great stretch of beach, it is no surprise that Soma Bay holidays also offer the opportunity to indulge in a range of other water sport activities. Its positioning at the extremity of the peninsula means that Soma Bay experiences great conditions for wind- dependent water sports, such as kite surfing and windsurfing, while sailing is also a popular pursuit.

Having experienced some or all of these extreme activities, you may find yourself in need of a little pampering. If so, you are in luck, because Soma Bay is home to one of the largest seawater therapy spas in the region.

Golf enthusiasts have it made when they choose to take their holidays in Soma Bay, since the resort benefits from a spectacular championship golf course.

For those in search of a little cultural enrichment there is a range of excursions on offer, which take in some of the country’s historic sites. They include day trips to Luxor, home to the Valley of the Kings and numerous ancient temples and monuments. Closer to hand are the Roman ruins at Claudianas and the ancient Christian churches of St Paul and St Anthony, where monks welcome curious visitors.

Holidays to Soma Bay would not be complete without taking in a range of evening entertainment, either in the town or in nearby resorts, such as Hurghada, which often attracts international acts to its entertainment venues.

Hotels in Soma Bay provide an excellent quality of service and facilities, including high-speed internet access and indoor and outdoor pools, while rooms are furnished to a high standard.

There is a good choice of restaurants and cafés in the area, offering menus to suit local and international tastes.
