Holidays to Phuket

There are many reasons to take holidays to Phuket, but perhaps the main attraction is the beach. There are actually several major beaches to explore, including Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Mai Khao Beach, Nai Han Beach and Nai Yang Beach. These are soft, sandy beaches and the water is cool and welcoming. You can bring the entire family to relax on these beaches knowing they will enjoy every minute of the time spent here.

While relaxing on the beach is all activity some visitors require this region is also known for its water sports, and a good place to start is with diving and snorkelling. The extensive shoreline and relatively shallow waters of Phuket allow divers to explore the reef areas easily. You will find numerous businesses to hire equipment from on Phuket, and you can even take a charter boat to ideal snorkelling locations only the locals know about. Visitors can explore the extensive marine life in the crystal clear waters.

For those who want to be more active, consider wind surfing. Phuket has strong winds that come at the island, creating the ideal conditions for wind surfing. You can rent equipment for wind surfing, as well as water skiing, parasailing and other activities. Several marinas are available for those who wish to explore the area by boat while on holidays to Phuket. You can bring in your yacht, or rent one for a day excursion. Both are great options for exploring the coastline.

While much of the activity in Phuket is tourism based today, the city has an exciting history and culture all its own. Many people visit this southeast island location in Thailand just for this reason, as traditional Thai culture is very much in evidence here.

The island enjoys tropical climates and, due to its location, receives much of its rainfall during the monsoon season. To avoid the monsoons, plan your trip for the May through October season.

In addition to the water sports and beach life, holidays in Phuket will also include time spent enjoying the nightlife. This is one of the main things the city is known for, especially during the height of the tourism season. There are numerous clubs and bars available throughout the year to accommodate the many international visitors to the island. Fine dining establishments, local cuisine and even international favourites are some of the food choices available to visitors. You will also find a number of casinos here, as the city is a popular gambling location for Thailand residents and international visitors alike.

Phuket holidays offer an outstanding excursion into this beautiful tropical region of the world. Enjoy the people, places and things to do here; you will not be let down by the many artisan shops, restaurants and the nightlife or by the cultural and natural wonders the area has to offer.
