Holidays to Whistler

However, it has branched out and now offers world-class skiing in the winter, trekking, ziplining and biking during the summer, and a host of other activities in between. Holidays in Whistler include active getaways, as well as artistic holidays and excellent shopping.

During Whistler holidays you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking beauty. Located along a ridge of mountains, both Whistler and Blackcomb ski areas offer plenty of groomed slopes, cross-country trails, and snowboarding areas to satisfy even the most aggressive shredder in your group. Home to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Sliding Centre, Olympic Park and Olympic Plaza remain available for visitors to use. Walk the same paths and ski the same slopes as gold-medal winners!

Holidays in Whistler aren’t complete without enjoying some off-slope activities. Whistler Village is a lovely setting, especially magical during the Christmas season when the lights reflect off the sparkling snow. Duck into a warm, lighted shop and find exciting fashions or pampering body care products. Enjoy fine dining at one of many award-winning restaurants and bars. Whistler has a sterling reputation for providing locally sourced items and organically grown produce, so you’ll have the freshest, most nutrient-dense delicacies available. Wine tasting tours are available that allow you to sample fine vintages from around the world, and pair one of them with your evening meal.

The action doesn’t stop when the sun goes down during your Whistler holidays. From pub-crawls to high-end lounges, the perfect après experience awaits. Relax fireside with other skiers or dance the night away in a glow-in-the-dark dance club. No matter what you prefer for nightlife, Whistler offers it. For something a little more relaxing the next day, grab your golf clubs and head out for some beautiful scenery on one of the many golf courses. The Nicklaus North Whistler Golf Course, the Arnold Palmer-designed Whistler Golf Club, or the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club all offer challenging play, and the Big Sky Golf and Country Club adds to that with some of the most stunning scenery in the world. Take your camera and your clubs to that location.

Famous for its art scene, Whistler doesn’t disappoint in this area either. The Winter Arts Festival is unique in that it includes snow sculpting as one of the mediums. You have to see some of these snow sculptures to believe them! Art galleries line the main street through the Village, and there are constantly changing arts festivals happening at the resort. The Whistler Film Festival near the end of each year highlights Canadian films and awards with up to $50,000 in prizes.

Before leaving holidays in Whistler, spend some time just relaxing with one of the marvellous spa experiences available in town or at one of the area’s resorts. You’ll leave Whistler refreshed, and ready to return.
