Ixia Holidays

Sitting on the northwest tip of the island of Rhodes, Ixia offers visitors luxury hotels, savoury restaurants with local and international dishes, inviting shops, and a wealth of water activities. The resort town is a popular destination for windsurfing and sailing thanks to excellent surf, good winds, and sunny, warm weather. Sandy and pebble beaches attract visitors from across Greece and around the world looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy a getaway.

Sun, Surf and Culture

Along the town’s scenic two-kilometre shingle beach is a promenade that meanders along the Aegean coastline. The beautiful promenade also links Ixia with Rhodes Town. With views of Turkish mainland, the resort’s beaches and promenade are perfect spots to watch spectacular sunsets. A great place to unwind with lively bars and bustling shops, the promenade comes to life as the sun goes down. In addition to enjoying the warm waters and attractive beach, strong winds and large waves make Ixia a perfect spot for windsurfing, parasailing and sailing. Convenient rental shops right on the beach also make enjoying watersports in Ixia easy.

Ixia is an idyllic base for experiencing the island’s rich history, with some of Rhodes’ most important archaeological sites situated nearby. Rhodes Town is known as the ancient site of Colossus and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Visitors to Rhodes can explore medieval sites and the ruins of the ancient city. Also close by is Ialysos, where visitors find the remains of the temple of Zeus and Athena Poliada. Ialysos, or Trianta, is also home of Byzantine ruins and is a great spot to enjoy panoramic views of the island.
