Cala San Vicente Holidays

One of the smallest of Majorca’s resorts, Cala San Vincente provides visitors with an authentic experience. A largely unspoilt fishing village, this traditional destination is an escape from the island’s more popular tourist destinations. Nestled along dramatic coastline and the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range, the village is approximately 60 kilometres north of Palma and just five kilometres north-west of Pollensa. Palma de Mallorca Airport is less than an hour’s drive from San Vincente.

When to Go

If you are looking for cheap and affordable rates, travel outside of July and August. This peak period is the hottest time of the year, with temperatures regularly hitting 30 degrees. Spring and autumn in Caja San Vincente are mild and sunny, with temperatures in the high 20s. Temperatures start to rise in May, with daytime highs in the mid-20s.

Where to Stay

Grupotel Molins is a stylish beachside hotel that offers a quiet retreat and unbelievable views. The resort sits on the edge of a sandy cover surrounded by mountains. It has fantastic amenities, including a pool, games room, tennis court, bars, buffet restaurant, and great evening entertainment. The four-star Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc is just 200 metres from Cala Clara beach. The small 38-room hotel includes nearly 3,000 square metres of sun terraces and a lovely pool area surrounded by Mediterranean-style gardens. Other accommodation options include the Hotel Don Pedro, Hotel La Moraleja, Hotel Niu, Hotel Oriola and Hotel Simar.

Attractions & Events

Beachgoers mingle with fishermen repairing nets and storing their boats in Cala San Vincente. Much of the village is residential, offering visitors a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The area delivers an authentic taste of Majorca along with three sandy beaches. Cala San Vincente’s beach is rugged and set among dramatic cliffs. Nearby fine beaches include Cala Molins and Cala Barques, which are popular spots in summer months.

If you choose to venture away from the clear waters of San Vincentre, get lost in the labyrinth of Pollensa’s old town. Pollensa is home to the hilltop Calvari chapel, which sits at the end of a 365-path through cypress trees. On Good Friday, a procession moves solemnly towards the chapel and draws crowds of locals and visitors alike. Other major events in the area include the Sant Antoni Abat festival in January, which opens with the lighting of small bonfires and the singing of traditional songs. The Fiesta of Mare de Deu dels Angels is the largest event in the north-west. Held in late July and early August, it includes a re-enactment of a battle between Christians and the Moors.
