Cala Millor Holidays

A holiday to Cala Millor promises some of the best beaches on Majorca, and it’s a great option if you enjoy a mixture of romantic walks, lively nightlife, or adventure activities. This is the main tourist area on the east coast, so it can be the perfect base if you plan to explore this part of the island. Cala Millor is suitable for a family holiday, romantic getaway, or for people who like to party.

Attractions around Cala Millor

The main attraction at Cala Millor (the name means ‘better bay’) is the 6km of white sandy beach that is nestled in-between two picturesque headlands. The sea here is a wonderful turquoise-blue and going for a swim is like stepping into a warm bath – the average temperature for the water in August is 25 degrees Celsius. The beach has its fair share of parasols and water sports, but it’s long enough so you can usually find somewhere private away from the crowds.

If you are looking for something a bit more strenuous than lying on the beach, you can choose from a number of activities. There is a Karting track to the south where you can get to whizz around powered by a 270cc engine. If you are interested in abundant marine life, you might try a trip out on a glass-bottomed boat. One of the most fun ways to explore Cala Millor is to go on a Segway Tour – this is a special electric scooter that it is easy to learn how to use.

One of the nice things about staying in Cala Millor is you can so easily get off the beaten tourist track. The headland between Cala Millor and Sa Coma covers an area of 200 hectares, and it is well worth coming here if you want to enjoy some unspoiled beauty. It takes about forty-five minutes to climb to the top of the headland (Punta de Amer), and your efforts are rewarded by some spectacular views.

Right Time to Visit Cala Millor

Cala Millor is a nice place to visit at any time of the year – even in January the average temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius. The best months to plan your holiday would be between April and October because this is when there is more going on, and you get to enjoy the best weather.

Shopping in Cala Millor

Cala Millor has an abundant selection of souvenir and gift shops – you are also going to have no problem finding places to purchase holiday products such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and beachwear. If you are in the mood to do some serious shopping, you might want to try the Friday morning market at Son Servera – there are also nearby markets at Arta (Tuesdays), Sineu (Wednesdays), and Inca (Thursdays).

Cala Millor Nightlife

The Cala Millor nightlife is varied enough that there is something to suit most tastes. Many of the bars provide free entertainment such as karaoke, quiz nights, and live music. If you are looking for a couples night out, there are plenty of cosy cocktail lounges and restaurants to choose from close to the beach. For something a bit livelier, you might choose Disco Karussell or Palace Q. If you enjoy chill-out music in a Mediterranean atmosphere, you are certainly going to want to check out Cafe del Sol on the beachfront.
