The Starwood group of luxury hotels has announced that it is to open the Le Meridien Dhaka hotel. The aim is to have the new property opened by the middle of 2013 and it will have more than 300 luxury rooms and suites. The location of the hotel is to be fairly close to the city’s airport and guests will be able to enjoy wonderful views of the city. This is to be the second hotel for Starwood in the city. The Le Meridien brand has expanded a great deal in Asia over the last few years and this trend is set to continue.
Dhaka is referred to as the ‘City of Mosques’ and has a great heritage, so it is expected that guests at the new hotel will be both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will offer a good standard of luxury accommodation and guests will be able to enjoy both the traditional and contemporary features of the hotel.
The city is currently short of luxury accommodation and the new hotel is set to have a five star rating. The hotel is to be located in a mix-use building and will begin on the 8th floor, covering floors up to the 15th floor. There will be a number of bars and eateries in the hotel and all day dining is available. The fully equipped fitness centre will be ideal for those taking luxury holidays at the hotel and there will also be a spa for those who want to relax.
