Innovation the key to a hotel’s success

Hyatt Hotels has recently made a statement to the effect that as hotel guests are now looking for accommodation that does more than provide a bed for the night, there is a need for hotels to be a little more innovative in their approach. Guests are looking for additional amenities such as fine restaurants, spas and unique branding. The aim is to create an experience that they will not forget. The VP of world wide sales for the Hyatt group of luxury hotels has declared that hoteliers need to ensure that the experience is out of the ordinary.

An example of this is the Park Hyatt Hotel in Chicago, which has recently undergone a renovation programme for its suites and other areas of the property. The project has taken two years to complete and cost several million dollars. A top Italian designer designed one of the suites and this link to the famous name is something that many guests will be looking for. The suites have been redesigned using high quality materials and a unique design. The suite that uses the Bottega Veneta design has great views of Lake Michigan and features two bathrooms, an open plan living space and a kitchenette. The furniture used comes from the designer’s own brand.

The Bottega Veneta fashion brand had already opened a boutique on the ground floor of the hotel and there are other hotels that are linking themselves to celebrity and fashion branding, which can be very beneficial for both sides.
