New luxury hotels for Sri Lanka

19 June 2012

The Centara group of luxury hotels is due to make additions to its portfolio in the form of two new properties in Sri Lanka. These are both due to open towards the end of the year and will be the Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa and the Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka. The hotels are to be managed by the company following the development of a management agreement.

The Passikudah Resort will have more than 120 luxury rooms and will be situated right next to the beach. This area is known for its shallow waters, which are ideal for those who enjoy water sports such as snorkelling. The Ceysands Resorts can be found at Bentota. These are to be the first hotels in Sri Lanka for the company and it is expected that tourism there will grow tremendously over the next few years. There are plans to develop the company further in the Indian Ocean region.

The Ceysands Resort is ideal for those taking luxury holidays and will have more than 160 rooms and suites. Guests will only be able to get to the hotel by ferry and the rooms will all have great views, either of the Indian Ocean or of the river. The guests will be able to enjoy traditional Sri Lankan dishes in the restaurant, as well as cuisines from other parts of Asia, and there will also be a speciality seafood restaurant. Alternatively, dinner in the evening can be enjoyed on a river cruise.
