One of the latest luxury hotels to open in Bangkok is The Siam. This is located in the Dusit district of the city, which is a popular tourist area that is filled with historic buildings such as palaces and temples. The Siam is a boutique hotel and is set in three acres of grounds right on the Chao Praya River. The hotel has been designed by a local celebrity and has 39 suites, each of which has its own theme but all of which are heavily influenced by local life and culture.
In addition there are ten villas, all of which have private pools and roof terraces, ideal for those wanting romantic luxury holidays in the city. Rooms are furnished with king-sized beds and spacious bathrooms. Guests can opt to be looked after by a personal butler. All guests can make use of amenities such as complimentary internet access, and there is also a gym, an art gallery, gift shop, spa and library, offering guests plenty of opportunities to relax.
There is also a Thai restaurant and cooking school on site for those who want to learn a new skill while taking luxury holidays at the hotel. The menu at the restaurant has been designed to make the most of fresh, locally sourced produce, and guests can enjoy views of the river while having dinner. Alternatively there is a bar and bistro, or a cafe for those who just want a light snack. The bistro often has live musicians playing.
