The Peppers brand of luxury hotels has announced that it is to expand. This is an award-winning brand and it has just added the Awaroa Lodge in the Abel Tasman National Park to its portfolio of properties in New Zealand. The hotel is due to open at the end of September and, when it does, it will be known as the Peppers Awaroa Lodge. This is the sixth property in New Zealand to be added to the company’s portfolio. Back in February the company added the Parehua Retreat in Martinborough. The new investments are seen as a reinforcement of the company’s commitment to providing luxury boutique accommodation for travellers.
The Awaroa Lodge has four stars and is a wilderness lodge; it is the only property within the National Park that provides luxury accommodation to travellers. The park is known for its amazing beaches and cliffs, and it is popular with those who want to get a little closer to nature. The remoteness of the property has helped it to become very popular and visitors to the area can reach the property by water taxi, helicopter or light aircraft, as there is no road available.
The property has 26 luxury villas, which give guests great views of the surroundings. 12 of these are superior suites, which have been designed with green issues in mind. The resort is also popular for weddings and conferences, and it is committed to sustainable practices, having connections with organisations that set the standards for green tourism.
