Holidays to New York

Despite its numerous tourist attractions, New York City still has many secrets, hidden in the most unlikely of places. It is up to you to unlock them. It is quite simply impossible to see everything on your New York holidays, so try to soak up the city’s unique atmosphere and let yourself be carried away with its sheer sophistication and diversity.

What do you think when someone says New York or the Big Apple? Frank Sinatra’s dulcet tones whispering through the air, Wall Street and frantic traders executing the next hot deal, Hollywood actors setting up stage for the next city blockbuster. Whatever it is, New York is steeped in memories and will entertain you throughout your stay.

In the Meatpacking District, not only will you find some of the hottest nightclubs but also those shopaholics among you will be spoiled for choice with designer boutiques and malls.

Visitors choosing to spend their holidays in New York cannot fail to be impressed with the iconic buildings dominating the city’s skyline. Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are two such landmarks and no trip to New York would be complete without visiting them.

Central Park, another iconic landmark, offers a variety of beautiful recreational opportunities amid the bustle of joggers, nature lovers, and bikers who frequent the park daily. Those from all walks of life frequent this park and memorable sights such as the Friedsam Memorial Carousel are also located here. Let us not forget Belvedere Castle, which offers great views of the city, or the Strawberry Field, which houses a black-and-white "Imagine" mosaic, and was a special tribute to John Lennon, presented by the city of Naples.

Staten Island Ferry is simply the best ferry ride in the world as you can experience an unforgettable view of the Statue of Liberty. The magnificence of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge are also to be admired and provides a truly thrilling experience for visitors on New York holidays! You may not wish to get off the ferry once at the terminal but if once is not enough, then why not try the dramatic view in reverse?

The Empire State Building is one of most famous skyscrapers in the world and easily recognizable in the New York City skyline. The building opened in 1931 and at 1,450 feet is currently the ninth tallest building in the world. Test your head for heights on the observation decks that are on the 86th and 102nd floors. The best vantage spot is on the lower floor however and on clear days, the view can stretch more than 80 miles.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is home to more than two million works of art. The Museum displays international work from a huge variety of artists from all styles, genres, and time periods. Walking tours, guest lectures and concerts are just some of the activities on offer here and all visitors to the city will have plenty of activities and attractions to keep themselves occupied in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
