Holidays to Hawaii

Each of the six islands is distinctive from the others. The islands are named Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii. Each one represents the beauty that this area has to offer and shares with visitors tropical blue lagoons, cascading waterfalls, sea cliffs, lush rainforests, white and black sand beaches, serene mountains, active volcanoes and even snow.

Ideally, Hawaiian holidays should include a visit to all six of the islands. If that sounds a little too ambitious for your holidays to Hawaii, then you will have to choose between miles of endless sand at Papohaku Beach on Molokai, or the dramatic cliffs at the Napali Coast on Kauai. Perhaps reaching the summit of Haleakala on Maui or choosing the energetic atmosphere found on Waikiki Beach on Oahu is more to your taste. Visitors can also check out the volcanoes at the national park on the Big Island of Hawaii, and there are always the dolphins in the waters of Hulope Bay on Lanai to visit as well.

Regardless of where you choose to visit, you will probably begin your Hawaiian holidays at the Honolulu International Airport on Oahu. There are also direct flights to be had from other parts of the United States to the Big Island of Hawaii as well as to Kauai and Maui.

There are countless activities to enjoy during your holidays to Hawaii. Take tours off the beaten track to small towns and hidden beaches. Take your time learning about the history and rich culture of these magnificent islands. To get started, immerse yourself in an authentic luau for your first taste of Hawaiian culture.

During the lazy days, visitors can sign up to snorkel, surf or kayak or visit Pearl Harbor. Travellers can watch locals create the art of the hula, walk on a volcano or take a whale watching tour. At night, there are dozens of entertainment shows to take in. Your holidays in Hawaii can consist of doing it all, or simply doing nothing.

Some of the most popular things to do while taking holidays in Hawaii include taking in a traditional luau feast, biking down Haleakala, visiting Pearl Harbor, exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and kayaking along the Na Pali Coast.

Climate

Your holidays in Hawaii will keep you warm with the islands’ pleasant year round temperatures. The gentle trade winds ensure mild temperatures and the sunny skies make it an ideal travel destination. Temperatures will vary by island, but it is common to experience highs in the mid 20s C for daytime temperatures year-round.

At night, a light jacket may be required due to the cooler ocean breezes. The islands do see a contrast in weather because of their terrain variations. On the Big Island, for example, visitors can soak up the sun on the beach and ski on Mauna Kea Mountain all in the same day.

Currency

Hawaii uses the United States dollar as their local currency.
