Holidays to Ibiza

The landscape is harsh and rocky, but do not let that divert your intentions of booking holidays to Ibiza. With very little rainfall, the island is filled with hardy pine trees as well as fig, almond, and olive trees. The rugged coastline does have its share of sandy beaches with back roads leading to pure rural area, quite a difference from the picture that is usually painted of Ibiza.

Ibiza became a popular holiday destination in the 1960s, when flower power and peace were a big part of the culture, since the atmosphere and beaches were so laid back. There were very few cars on the island, which is very different from today’s high-energy tourist destination.

Thousands of people book holidays to Ibiza these days. It is hip, fashionable, and fun. Ibiza is a place that mixes different heritage and cultures. The architecture alone is something to see, especially that on S’Illa Blanca (the White Island). Ibiza is also the birthplace of rave, with a diverse collection of bars and some of the most famous clubs in the world on the island.

Although Ibiza holidays are for those who want fun in the sun and excitement at night, the island also appeals to the nature lover. A distance from the bars and downtown hustle and bustle are the woods and plenty of coastal walks. These parts of Ibiza are quiet and tranquil. Most of the nature reserves and pleasant outdoor areas are on the northern part of the island. Check out Santa Eluaria d’es Riu for a taste of Ibiza’s natural beauty away from the beach.

Just like ancient mythology, Ibiza has its own Atlantis, a secret cove that is known only to the locals. If you are lucky enough to find a local who will disclose its location, Atlantis is a definite ‘must do’ for Ibiza holidays. Perhaps the same day, you should visit Es Vedra. Es Vedra is a giant island rock found on the island’s west coast that many believe has mystical powers. Another natural wonder on Ibiza is the Cova de Can Marca, which is one of the largest natural caves on the island. The caves lie just north of the village of Sant Miquel, and are found on a picturesque rocky inlet. If you have the time, plan on a guided tour for an informative and entertaining experience.

If you are planning to get married while on holiday, Ibiza is the place. Many people book Ibiza holidays especially for nuptials. There is a plethora of wedding planners, wedding photographers, and resorts on the island happy to help you plan your special day.
